Welcome to our new site!
Tuesday July 28, 2009 - Angela Anderson
I just wanted to welcome everyone to our new website. Here at CEN, we've been working feverishly to increase the value of the site, with new features, new content, while keeping the stuff you love, like the Quiz. Here's a rundown of new features on the site:
• Interactive PDFs of every issue: This is one feature I'm most excited about. Using Issuu, a page turner program, users can flip through the pages of CEN easily, zoom in, read the articles, look at ads, and if you want more information about the ads, click on them and a new browser window will open up linking you to the company's website!
• Online subscription: To make subscribing to CEN even easier!
• Blogs: Embracing Web 2.0, we made a space for blogs on our site. I will regularly post my Editor's Blog, and we will have a couple more columnists blogging as well as time goes on. This is a great feature to start discussion on topics important to you as EMS professionals, as well as on topics that may not be right for the magazine, but that the bloggers wanted to bring up anyway.
• Comments: Users can now comment on stories they view on the site, providing another form of dialogue between us and our readers.
• RSS Feed: Know exactly when we update our website, by subscribing to our RSS!
• Products Listings: This is meant to be an online trade show of sorts, providing information about different products, organizations and associations relevant to EMS.
• Bulletin Board: Members of the site can post Events, Job Opportunities and Obituaries.
• Contributor Bios: Want to know more about CEN writers? Just click on this and get a list of their bios. And that about does it for new content! I hope you enjoy, and if you have any questions or comments about the site, please let us know. Also, if you run into any issues with links or features, please let us know so we can maintain the site to its full potential! Talk to you soon, Angela Anderson
