Eastern Health Paramedics Pack the Back

December 2011

Members of the Paramedicine & Medical Transport Division at Eastern Health donated the proceeds from their Pack the Back Challenge December 16, 2011 at Station 1 on Majors Path, St John's.  Pack the Back was a public campaign to challenge the public to Pack the Back of an ambulance with non-perishable food, clothing, and toys for those less fortunate for the Holiday Season.  The challenge was a huge success packing 2 modular ambulances and raising almost $600 in cash.  All proceeds were donated to the Salvation Army for distribution.

Paramedicine & Medical Transport at Eastern Health is comprised of Primary, Advanced, and Critical Care Paramedics, as well as, nurses, physicians and support staff.  The Division provides ground ambulance paramedic services to the metro region of St John's, medical flight services for the entire Province, in addition to, operates a Medical Communications Center, and the Provincial medical Oversight program for paramedic professional practice regulation in Newfoundland and Labrador.
