Canadian Emergency News Transitions to Canadian Paramedicine
Changes with the print magazine and online!
Lyle Blumhagen and Angela Anderson
For 34 years Canadian Emergency News served Canadian EMS and its related professions. During that time Canadian Emergency News became well known and respected as the voice of Canadian EMS. Organizations such as the Paramedic Association of Canada, the EMS Chiefs of Canada, the Ontario Paramedic Association, the Paramedic Association of Canada and the Canadian EHS Consortium have all endorsed Canadian Emergency News.
To mark its 35th year in publication, and after months of consultation with readers and industry leaders, Canadian Emergency News is being renamed Canadian Paramedicine. The name Canadian Paramedicine accurately reflects the changes and maturation that have occurred with the allied EMS professions, as well as the magazine itself.
Along with the new name will come a new look, but everything else, between the covers and out, will remain the same. The same readers, the same knowledgeable and nationally respected writers, the same features and the same advertisers. The changes between the covers have already occurred over the years, and the new name better reflects the end result of that evolutionary process.
Continuing Canadian Emergency News’ mandate, Canadian Paramedicine is a progressive, educational magazine for members of Canada’s paramedicine professions. Canadian Paramedicine’s primary editorial focus is the news and issues related to those professions. Related secondary editorial topics include disaster preparedness and response, rescue and allied health care issues.
The magazine strives to provide emergency medical service professionals with the most up-to-date and vital information available. Easy to read, informative and helpful, Canadian Paramedicine features writers who know their subject and their audience—professional responders who have a talent for conveying information and stories to the readers in a pleasing and professional manner.
